ALCOA ACTION GRANT 2011

On saturday Septmeber 24, 2011 the Franklin County Training Grounds in cooperation with Alcoa, worked together to perform maintainence on the training facility. With the help of 13 Alcoa employees and 36 volunteer firefighters an enormous amount of work was completed in a relatively short amount of time.

Alcoa will now donate $3,000.00 to the FRACO Drill Area to be used to upgrade the facility.

The Training Grounds committee and Franklin County Emergency Services would like to thank all the volunteer firefighters and Alcoa employees who came out to support the training grounds. Our facility is one of the best in the region, we think, and would not be what it is today without the cooperation of so many people.

I personally, would like to thank Adrian McDonald and Gene Nesbitt for assisting with the live-burn evolution. Chris Bouissey, Ben Treptow, Don King, Joe Bigness, Car 4 Richy Fountain, Jonas Hasting, thank you for manning the hose lines. I hope I didnt forget anyone!

Firefighter of the Year Awarded 2011

Bombay Firefighter Tom Leduc 2/2011

It is with great regret that I announce the passing of our brother firefighter Tom Leduc. Tom was a 60 year veteren of the Bombay fire department. Not only was Tom a great friend but was also someone to look up to. He was very active with the Franklin County Fire Police and was a main stay at the fire station. He was know to some as the Mayor of Bombay.

A moment of silence was held at the Tuesday night Firefighter one class in his honor and the winter 2011 Firefighter one class will be dedicated to him.

 He will be greatly missed!
